Carte Blanche to Christian Rizzo – Online Talk
French choreographer extraordinaire Christian Rizzo joins West Kowloon Karen Cheung* to host a public talk in which he will delve into his career highlights and challenges, and his experience of collaborating with artists from different backgrounds over the years.

From 31 May to 5 June 2022, Freespace, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels and French May Arts Festival co-present the multi-element free programme “Carte Blanche to Christian Rizzo” in which Christian Rizzo takes full creative control while working remotely from France. In this supplementary online talk, Rizzo also shares his thoughts about the remote collaborations.
The one-hour online talk is conducted in English, with English and Chinese subtitles.

Christian Rizzo
Born in 1965 in Cannes, France, Christian Rizzo is an accomplished choreographer, dancer, rock musician and fashion designer. After graduating with a degree in visual arts from the Villa Arson in Nice, he founded L’Association Fragile in 1996 and has since created more than 30 productions, including qui va là for the Opera de Lille, and comment dire “ici”? for Dance Forum Taipei.
In 2015, he was appointed Director of the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier - Occitanie, which has been renamed International Choreographic Institute. The Institute provides a forward-looking space for artists of various backgrounds to study, create and share different dance practices and forms, together breaking new ground in the world of choreography.
